What we are looking forWe are looking for a Partnership Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our East Africa resource mobilization efforts and supports our Strategic partnership and promote policies and laws that favor agriculture, climate finance, technology, and financial inclusion and resourcing to promote our mission in East Africa.This position will be responsible for sourcing for potential partners, create new business opportunities, and managing existing partnerships by coming up new concepts for collaboration, tracking performance, and resolving problems. The role will also build and maintain strategic relationships including government, private sector, institutional investors, and development partners and individuals that will strengthen our Social, Economical, and Environmental goals.What does the job involve
  • Resource Mobilization/Project Development:
  • Lead our East Africa Resource Mobilization strategy development and implementation.
  • Provide guidance on funding opportunities, donor priorities, and proposal requirements.
  • Manage the proposal development process, ensuring compliance and donor responsiveness.
  • Coordinate with key departments, delegate actions, and maintain timeliness.
  • Draft winning proposals, concept notes, and presentations.
  • Maintain contacts with specific donors, facilitate meetings, and support negotiations.
  • Ensure timely reporting to donors and lead external report drafting.
  • Drive improvements in fundraising practices and industry trend monitoring.
  • Partnership Development:
  • Conduct strategic partnership mapping and risk assessment.
  • Facilitate negotiation and management of partnership agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with networks, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Support partnership reviews and reporting.
  • Mobilize partners for various initiatives and organize events.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Develop capacity building plans for Resource Mobilization competencies.
  • Coach and mentor staff, linking them to talent development mechanisms.
  • Identify capacity building gaps and provide relevant training plans.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree from any discipline, including Business Development, Economics or Finance (A post-graduate degree master’s or higher on development related discipline would be an advantage).
  • At least 5 - 7 years’ experience working in the private sector, agricultural sector, and/or development/ NGO/ INGO sector, including field and management experience.
  • Extensive experience in strategic partnership development and management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and mobilizing resources from a multiplicity of donors, including institutional, foundation, individual, bilateral and multilateral donors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing donor funded projects across the agricultural, financial, climate, or other relevant sectors.
  • Compelling influencer and communicator – able to inspire, build consensus and bring people together around a common agenda.
  • Experience with identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders at all levels including, government, international organizations, and private sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project design, management and grant development.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, collaboration experience, creativity and willingness to innovate.
  • Experience in writing project reports, developing budgets, stakeholder reports, and impact reports.
  • Experience of managing multi-cultural teams and ability to build, develop and motivate a high performing team, prioritizing effective across organizational working as a key element of high performance.
