The Chemistry Teacher shall be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, guiding practical experiments and ensuring laboratory safety. The teacher will also assess student progress, foster critical thinking and prepare real-world scientific applications.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver well-structured and engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with the IB curriculum (MYP and DP).
- Inspire students’ curiosity and scientific inquiry through interactive teaching, practical experiments, and field study opportunities.
- Set up demonstrations, supervise laboratory work, and ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
- Provide differentiated support, resources, and interventions to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional assistance.
- Assess, record, and monitor student progress to inform teaching and provide accurate feedback to students and parents through reports, meetings, and communications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement inquiry-based, student-centred learning experiences.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that fosters high standards of behaviour, organisation, and academic achievement.
- Liaise with the Head of Department, Learning Support, and pastoral teams where students have specific academic or wellbeing needs.
- Contribute to departmental and whole-school events, curriculum development, and improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (Science).
- 5 years’ teaching experience in an international curriculum school.
- Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.
