Reports to: Quality Assurance ManagerJob Purpose:
- To ensure the quality and safety of fish products by enforcing stringent quality control standards throughout the processing, storage, and distribution stages. This role also includes oversight of cleaning hubs, cold room management, customer complaint handling, documentation, and compliance with national and international food safety standards.
- Oversee and implement quality control measures across all fish processing stages.
- Conduct routine and random inspections in cleaning, cold storage, packaging, dispatch, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and internal QA protocols.
- Develop, implement, and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Supervise cleaning teams and ensure sanitation of all processing zones.
- Implement cleaning SOPs, sanitation schedules, and chemical usage protocols.
- Ensure daily manual drainage and proper documentation.
- Plan and report on general cleaning schedules across all hubs.
- Supervise daily processing activities ensuring hygiene and temperature control.
- Monitor and log cold room temperatures; coordinate equipment audits and maintenance.
- Lead training for casual workers on hygiene, PPE, and quality.
- Maintain palletization and proper product storage.
- Conduct daily audits and report on NE items and spoiled stock.
- Ensure thermosuit usage and staff discipline within the coldroom.
- Supervise finished goods dispatch ensuring traceability, accuracy, and handling compliance.
- Analyze returns and customer complaints, documenting root causes and recommending action plans.
- Report on all nonconformance issues and ensure corrective measures.
- Oversee quality control during transit, including use of temperature loggers.
- Ensure shelf-life tracking and proper handling during transportation.
- Ensure completion of organoleptic forms before truck departure.
- Verify customer orders for accuracy and quality compliance.
- Approve all outgoing stock only after final QA checks.
- Ensure proper packaging based on client-specific requirements.
- Maintain QA records: inspection logs, batch records, organoleptic tests, NE tracking, and compliance documents.
- Present trend analysis and quality improvement reports.
- Collaborate with the stock team to ensure only quality-approved items are recorded.
- Partner with inventory to assess product quality during storage.
- Monitor product rotation (FIFO/FEFO), expiry, and write-offs.
- Participate in stock takes and conduct weekly coldroom audits.
- Report on product ageing and recommend actions.
- Lead investigations into quality-related issues.
- Track recurring complaints, recommend improvements, and ensure resolution feedback loops.
- Train staff on occupational and food safety protocols.
- Ensure all incidents are reported and followed up promptly.
- Maintain facility compliance with OSHA and food safety legislation.
- Identify improvement areas in QA operations.
- Lead Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma projects related to quality.
- Implement company-wide QA training and standards.
- Analyze losses due to spoilage, contamination, or handling errors.
- Recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare for and coordinate with regulatory and third-party audits.
- Ensure full compliance with KEBs, MoH, and international standards.
