- Community Engagement and CoLMEAL Implementation
- Help train youth, girls, women, and local leaders on CoLMEAL tools and simple ways to collect and use data.
- Assist in setting up and supporting CoLMEAL Groups in villages and helping them stay active.
- Mobilize community members for meetings, trainings, or special events when needed.
- Act as the main contact between the community and ADRA Kenya to share information and feedback.
- Action Grants Administration and Oversight
- Help community groups (especially youth and women groups) create gender-aware proposals that solve local problems.
- Assist the CoLMEAL Officer during trainings on grant writing, budgets, and basic risk management.
- Visit grantee groups regularly to check progress and help solve small problems.
- Make sure community groups keep simple records like signed attendance lists, photos, and legal receipts.
- Support monitoring of how the small grants are spent and report anything that needs support or correction.
- Participatory Monitoring, Learning, and Knowledge Management
- Support CoLMEAL groups to collect and record gender-disaggregated data and other useful information.
- Use basic CoLMEAL and MEARL tools to track what’s working and what needs change in activities.
- Help plan or participate in small community learning or feedback forums.
- Share useful information with the CoLMEAL Officer and help write short community updates when needed.
- Participatory Monitoring, Learning, and Knowledge Management
- Support the communications or advocacy officer to document short stories, quotes, or events from the community.
- Help organize community forums and feedback sessions, like scorecard meetings orbarazas.
- Build and maintain good relationships with ward-level government offices, CBOs, and youth/women leaders.
- Keep regular contact with the ADRA team to make sure the community activities stay on track and challenges are reported early.
- Education Diploma in Social Sciences, Diploma in Community Development or Social Work or related discipline
- Experience At least 1 year of experience in community development, participatory monitoring and evaluation, grants administration, or grassroots advocacy.
- Experience working with community groups
- Working in Kakuma will be an added advantage
