  • Provide technical leadership in qualitative data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Hand on experience using qualitative analysis software (Nvivo, Dedoose etc)
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and other knowledge products.
  • Support the translation of research findings into policy-relevant insights for decision-makers.
  • Work closely with AFIDEP's research and policy teams to ensure methodological rigour and relevance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Master's or PhD in a relevant social science discipline (e.g. sociology, anthropology, development studies, education, economics, or related fields).
  • A minimum of 10 years of intensive, hands-on qualitative research experience, demonstrated through a strong track record of relevant scientific or peer-reviewed publications.
  • Proven experience conducting qualitative research in one or more of the following areas: youth employment and job creation; education and skills development; youth livelihoods.
  • Experience conducting policy research and/or engaging government and other key stakeholders, including organising policy dialogues, is desirable
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Availability to undertake the assignment on a short-term basis (3-5 months).
