Implementing the School Strategy in line with overall strategy, policies, processes and procedures to achieve the institution's goals and objectives.Requirements:
  • A relevant PhD degree or its academic equivalent.
  • At least 5 years experience as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent.
  • Must have served as a Head of Department for at least 4 years.
  • Demonstrable delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) in previous assignments.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body will be an advantage.
  • Christian commitment and practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Articulating and leading in the implementation of University policies and procedures and ensuring that the School policies and practices are consistent and compliant with those of the University.
  • Monitoring curriculum implementation, syllabi use, projection of courses, and teaching methodologies.
  • Coordinating student formative and summative evaluation through continuous assessment, examinations, theses supervision and examination for quality and excellence in academic scholarship at the School level.
  • Monitoring research and publication outputs of the School.
  • Monitoring the use of facilities and equipment assigned to the School.
  • Engaging in teaching and training of students.
  • Preparing and revising, as necessary, academic programs, plans and calendar for the School in line with the Senate calendar of academic events.
  • Ensuring appropriate Christian behaviour both internally and externally in line with the University's vision.
  • Identifying, benchmarking, and implementing best practices in the School's management for improved academic performance and achievements.
  • Preparing, monitoring, and reporting of the School budgetary allocations and overseeing the utilization of budgetary resources.
  • Responsible for talent management in the School including coaching, mentoring, developing, motivating, training, and evaluating staff to achieve the highest levels of performance.
  • Leading and managing communication between the School and other constituencies within the University.
  • Managing and implementing change initiatives to achieve the desired University plans and culture.
