- This position is required to be readily available and to respond based on needs of the area at all times. This position might oversee personnel and receives essential tasks with basic instructions and usually with limited supervision. This position focuses on day-to-day operations with little input on creating processes and strategies.
- Lead and implement Church Security Department (CSD) strategies throughout the Africa Central Area.
- Conduct ongoing geopolitical risk assessments and security forecasting using reliable intelligence sources and field analysis.
- Maintain strong working relationships with embassy contacts, law enforcement, NGOs, private security firms, and Africa Central Area departments.
- Coordinate emergency action plans (EAPs), response drills, and mission-level training.
- Advise and support mission presidents on housing, transportation, crisis response, and missionary safety.
- Oversee security training and awareness programs for Area leaders, mission staff, and Church employees.
- Provide physical site reviews of mission offices, mission homes, temples, and meetinghouses, and missionary housing units to ensure safety compliance.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for critical incidents or evacuations within the Area.
- Ensure Church security protocols are culturally adapted in each country.
- Participate in global ASM forums and collaborate with CSD Headquarters for strategic alignment.
- Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
- Bachelor's degree (preferred in Criminal Justice, International Relations, Security Management, Business Management, or related field.
- Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in security, law enforcement, military, or risk management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international security operations and technical systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- High integrity, discretion, and ability to manage confidential or sensitive matters.
- Experience working in complex or high-risk environments preferred.
- Strong office management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
