The Cost Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial tracking and performance of all company projects, ensuring accurate cost monitoring, variance analysis, and timely reporting. This role supports project teams and senior management with financial insights that drive accountability and informed decision-makingFunctions

Monitor financial progress of active projects, ensuring expenditures remain within approved budgets.
Identify potential project overruns, variances, or risks and escalate to the CFO with actionable insights.
Coordinate with the Accounting Manager to ensure consistency and accuracy in project-related reporting
Review project invoices and verify correct coding to relevant cost categories
Ensure that project-related costs are accurately tracked and reconciled in the accounting system.
Monitor and report stock usage per project.
Track variances between projected and actual stock consumption, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Oversee project-related Mpesa petty cash usage, Ndovu Pay , Miscellaneous and their reconciliation.
Track and report project cash requirements in collaboration with Accounts.
Prepare and update monthly project performance reports including cost tracking, progress summaries, and financial status.
Support internal and external reporting cycles by maintaining up-to-date financial data for each project.
Participate in weekly project meetings to provide financial updates and flag issues requiring attention.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial awareness and discipline at every phase of project
Support external & internal audits of the company.
Project Closeout: Oversee the financial closeout process for completed projects, including final cost reconciliation, documentation, and reporting.
Collaborate with warehouse assistants to ensure proper inventory control and reconciliation of the Physical stock with the accounting records.
Ensure timely disbursement of project per diems through Ndovu Pay

Key Requirement Skills And Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
CPA(K)
At least 3 years' experience in project finance, cost control, or related roles
Experience working in project-based or engineering environments is desirable
Working knowledge of Accounting systems such as QuickBooks & Sage.
