- Develop and implement an integrated HR strategy aligned with the mission, values and goals of Segera and the ZEITZ Foundation.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning, talent management and organisational development.
- Promote a positive organisational culture rooted in integrity, inclusivity and performance.
- Oversee all core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, contract management, compliance, training and exit procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with Kenyan labour laws, the Data Protection Act and HR-related regulations, including health and safety, social security, and statutory reporting.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Ensure appropriate data handling practices are followed across the organisation, in line with data protection and confidentiality standards.
- Guide the development and implementation of performance management frameworks that support continuous feedback, recognition and professional growth.
- Lead succession planning, leadership development and capacity-building initiatives.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Oversee payroll administration and ensure accurate, timely and confidential processing of salaries and benefits.
- Work closely with Finance and the Payroll Clerk to manage compensation structures, statutory deductions and benefit programs.
- Monitor trends and benchmarks to ensure competitiveness and internal equity.
- Champion employee engagement, motivation and well-being through effective communication and staff support programmes.
- Nuture an open and respectful communication channels between management and staff.
- Actively champion and support the Staff Welfare Committee, Health and Safety Committee, Gender Committee and Disciplinary Committee, ensuring their regular functioning, effectiveness and alignment with organisational values.
- Support mental health, work-life balance, conflict resolution and inclusive workplace initiatives.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the HR Manager, HR Clerk, and Payroll Clerk.
- Coordinate team responsibilities to ensure efficiency and alignment with organisational priorities.
- Promote teamwork, accountability and professional development within the HR department.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- At least 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, the Data Protection Act and regulatory requirements.
- Must have experience working in large workforce industries, such as Agriculture or Horticulture.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multicultural teams and remote sites.
- Must be a member of IHRM. CHRP and other memberships an advantage.
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs an advantage.
