- Review and verify supporting documentation for payment requests to ensure compliance and accuracy prior to bank or cash disbursements.
- Prepare and submit monthly Budget Variance Analysis (BVA) reports for the Regional Hub to the Head of Operational Support.
- Conduct intercompany control account reconciliations across multiple country offices to ensure accuracy and timely reconciliation (account codes 1560 and 1561).
- Monitor and report on Regional Hub running costs, coordinating with the Administration and Logistics units to ensure timely payment of utilities and other regional expenses.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of Regional Hub accounts and ensure timely submission of Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
- Conduct weekly cash counts in collaboration with the Finance Officer to maintain cash integrity.
- Provide budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting support to hosted entities within the East and Southern Africa (ESA) Regional Hub.
- Calculate and record hosting fees for entities hosted within the ESA Regional Hub.
- Post monthly salary entries for both international and national staff into the financial system.
- Process and disburse payroll for national staff in accordance with organizational policies.
- Provision of national staff severance as per contractual and statutory requirements.
- Ensure monthly zeroing of the ESA Regional Hub budget to maintain financial accuracy.
- Prepare project summaries to support timely and accurate fund requests.
- Conduct finance induction sessions for new staff joining the Regional Office, covering NRC financial procedures and systems.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Compile and submit the Regional Office transaction checklist monthly.
- Submit weekly exchange rate reports to Head Office for financial planning and reporting.
- Monitor and ensure that the Project Control Budget (K1FX0001) maintains a NIL balance at the end of each month.
- Proven experience in financial management within humanitarian or recovery contexts.
- Demonstrated success in delivering results aligned with the responsibilities of the role.
- Self-awareness of leadership style and ability to adapt to different team dynamics.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in financial roles within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting systems and tools.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Proficient skills in computer-based financial analysis and reporting.
- High level of cultural sensitivity and awareness, with the ability to work in diverse settings.
- Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
