- Tangaza University invites applications from dynamic, faith-driven, and results-oriented individuals for the position of
- Assistant Programme Director - Safeguarding Initiative. This is a strategic leadership role within a transformative capacity-building programme aimed at equipping Catholic sisters and novices with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to foster safeguarding cultures within their religious communities and ministries.
- The position involves academic coordination, teaching, training logistics, stakeholder engagement, and project oversight. The successful candidate will report to the Programme Director and work closely with internal teams, religious congregations, donors, and other key partners.
- Lead and coordinate the design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Safeguarding Initiative.
- Oversee blended learning course delivery (online and in-person) for novices and professed sisters.
- Teach and facilitate safeguarding modules and coordinate quality assurance in curriculum delivery.
- Collaborate with congregational leadership and formators to assess training needs and develop responsive content.
- Organize and supervise training logistics including venues, materials, and facilitators.
- Engage regularly with stakeholders, including part-time trainers, funders, and alumni.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programme activities, monitoring data, and donor reporting.
- Work with Tangaza's ICT team to ensure effective online learning infrastructure and course access.
- A Master's degree in Canon Law, Missiology, Pastoral Theology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
- A Catholic Religious Sister in good standing and recommended by her superior.
- At least 3 years of experience in programme coordination or project management in a Catholic/religious or development setting.
- Experience in teaching and curriculum facilitation, especially in safeguarding or capacity development.
- Demonstrated ability to organize trainings, liaise with diverse stakeholders, and manage logistics.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and virtual teaching tools (e.g., Zoom).
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Kiswahili is an added advantage).
- Commitment to the values and mission of Tangaza University.
- Ability to build networks with Church leadership and religious congregations.
- Practical understanding of safeguarding principles and Catholic Social Teaching.
