- Performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, and recording accounting data in the system.
- Prepare the financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, cashflow and all the other required reports.
- Collaborate with HODs to develop annual and quarterly budgets and budget forecasts, analysis, and reporting.
- Analyze production and operational costs to prepare accurate cost estimates for pricing and budgeting decisions.
- Provide recommendations for cost reduction strategies and operational efficiency
- Collaborating with Management to address significant budgetary variances and recommend corrective action in regards to the same.
- Develop strategies to reduce costs and study service/product pricing to ensure the best possible returns.
- Review documents and transactions to ascertain compliance, accuracy, and reasonableness of the transactions.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly and timely updated and
- Ensure timely processing of payments and preparation of the weekly payments
- Prepare the weekly and monthly cash flow reports and
- Timely collection of receivables to maintain a healthy cashflow for the
- Prepare and file all statutory and tax returns (monthly, quarterly and annually) - Income tax, VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF etc. and ensure payments to the authorities are made on time as provided by applicable laws.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and#
- Perform finance end-month closure process and ensure overall general ledger hygiene by reconciling all balance sheet and PL accounts and following up reconciling items on a timely manner.
- Prepare the interim and final audit files and follow up all audit issues raised by internal and external auditors.
- Maintain proper filing of documents and maintain proper records of all accounting
- Provide accurate and timely reports as required by management and heads of
- Maintaining the company Asset register and ensuring accuracy on all asset files and verification of physical assets.
- Create and promote a positive work environment within the finance team.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).
