Dandelion Africa reduces maternal and child mortality by providing quality and accessible healthcare to communities in hard to reach rural areas. We do this through a medical facility, our backpack nurses who go door-to-door and a network of over 100 unpaid community health volunteers. We provide free quality healthcare to children under the age of five. We encourage women to access affordable reproductive health services, enabling them to have time for productive work and engage in economic and leadership opportunities. Dandelion Africa works with communities and the government on practical and systematic change so that communities in rural Kenya have access to quality healthcare. We engage boys and men so they are agents of change and champion women's health and livelihoods.Monitoring and Evaluation OfficerDuties and Responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans for projects and programs.
  • Design and and lead the adaptation of monitoring tools and data collection instruments, ensuring alignment with project objectives and indicators.
  • Conduct data collection activities, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
  • Enter, clean, and manage data in monitoring and evaluation databases or systems.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and prepare dashboard to support prompt decision making purpose.
  • Participate in field visits to project sites to monitor activities, verify data, and document progress.
  • Provide logistical support for monitoring and evaluation activities, including organizing meetings and workshops.
  • Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Support capacity building initiatives for project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and reporting standards related to monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of M&E activities including filing reports, data collection tools, and other relevant documents for easy reference.
  • Any other duties as maybe assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in a relevant field such as social sciences, statistics, or international development.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or research activities is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management software.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to design impactful dashboards and compelling graphics. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a proactive team player.
  • Interest in learning about monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili (additional languages, particularly relevant to the organization's field of work, is an asset).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to work in multicultural environments.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for field visits and project activities.
