The Outpatient Department deliberately separated from the Emergency Unit welcomes you the ambience and beauty synonymous with AAR Hospital.Quality Improvement OfficerJob Purpose:Implementation of comprehensive quality improvement projects, performing quality control, and continuous quality improvement function to enhance compliance with guidelines, policies, protocols, and healthcare regulations to ensure patient safety, high-quality care delivery, and attainment of certification and accreditation.Duties and ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance and Control:
  • Participate in the review of quality and patient safety program, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Guide the interpretation and implementation of developed quality standards, policies, and procedures in the context of the quality and patient safety framework.
  • Constantly be involved in the training and communication of quality and patient safety issues and standards/best practices throughout the assigned areas.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and support the development and implementation of corrective/preventive action plans to address non-compliance.
  • Review Certification, accreditation, and regulatory agency survey and audit findings, and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans to address non-compliance.
  • Lead in the collection, measurement, and presentation of data required for monitoring and improving quality and patient safety.
Continuous quality improvement:
  • Lead the assigned departments in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for sentinel and adverse events.
  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Quality Improvement and support the development and implementation of CQI activities in the assigned departments.
  • Support assigned departments in the identification of relevant key quality performance indicators and in developing a database.
Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality throughout the hospital by promoting staff engagement and awareness of quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and clinical teams to implement quality improvement projects.
  • Provide training and education on quality, patient safety, and compliance standards for the hospital staff.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned from time to time.
QualificationsEducation
  • Diploma in clinical Medicine or Nursing from a recognized university or college, a bachelor's degree, and or a Higher National diploma in clinical medicine or nursing will be an added advantage.
  • Valid practice license from the regulatory council
  • Basic Certificate in Healthcare Quality Management, Patient Safety, and Incident Management.
Job Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a healthcare quality improvement role in a hospital setting, preferably a level 5 hospital.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical/nursing practice.
Key Competencies - Skills/ Knowledge/ Aptitude
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare clinical fundamentals, patient safety standards, and performance improvement standards.
  • Strong knowledge of CQI tools and techniques, root cause analysis and action, professional accountability and Just culture, PDSA, and Incident Management
  • Ability to perform data analytics and lead performance improvement teams. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify trends and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate Leadership ability to influence and motivate staff at all levels to achieve quality goals.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of applicable software programs.
