Job Title: Strategic Partnership Officer - AfricaBase Locations: Nairobi, Kenya | Kigali, RwandaReports to: Executive DirectorJob Type: Part-TimeAbout Angaza CenterAngaza Technology Literacy Center (Angaza Center) is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the economic circumstances of young girls and boys in rural African communities. We believe that every student, regardless of their social or economic circumstances, deserves access to the transformative power of technology. Angaza Center focuses on closing the digital divide by providing technology access and digital literacy to empower students in rural African secondary schools. Our mission is to enable these students to fully participate in the digital world, thereby improving their economic and social circumstances.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Partnership Developmento Identify, cultivate, and secure strategic partnerships with corporate, government, foundation, and nonprofit stakeholders.o Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with Angaza Center's mission and goals.o Lead negotiations and manage partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with organizational objectives.Relationship Managemento Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and satisfaction.o Serve as the primary point of contact for key partners, providing regular updates on program impact and opportunities for collaboration.Fundraising and Resource Mobilizationo Work closely with the fundraising team to identify and secure funding opportunities from diverse sources.o Develop proposals and presentations for potential partners, demonstrating the value and impact of collaboration with Angaza Center.Recruiting Applied Digital Literacy (ADL) Partner Schoolso Identify and recruit partner schools to participate in Angaza Center's programs.o Develop and implement strategies to engage schools in fee-for-service partnerships.o Work closely with the finance and program teams to ensure that partner school recruitment aligns with revenue goals and program objectives.o Build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions to foster long-term collaboration and support.Program Support and Collaborationo Collaborate with program teams to identify needs and opportunities for partnership support.o Ensure that partnership activities are integrated into program planning and implementation.o Support program teams in managing relationships with partners and ensuring successful project execution.Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacyo Represent Angaza Center at conferences, meetings, and events to raise awareness and build networks.o Advocate for Angaza Center's mission and initiatives with key stakeholders and decision-makers.o Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence policy and funding decisions.Monitoring and Evaluationo Develop metrics and systems to track the impact and effectiveness of partnerships.o Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on partnership activities and outcomes.o Use data and feedback to continuously improve partnership strategies and approaches.Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or related roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Skills:
o Proven track record of securing and managing high-value partnerships.o Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.o Excellent communication and presentation skills.o Ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities.o Familiarity with the African development landscape and key stakeholders.o Strong organizational and project management skills.o Experience in the education sector and understanding of school partnerships is a plus.Impact Areas
