KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the preparation of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, breads, and accompaniments.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Learn and grow within the kitchen team, contributing ideas and enthusiasm.
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Check quality of ingredients.
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.
  • Support the other chefs in daily kitchen operations and menu preparation
REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience in a similar in a reputable hotel
  • Basic knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and recipes.
  • A certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • A certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts is an added advantage.
