- A Higher diploma or BSc in Nursing, Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine, Peri-Operative Technology, Physiotherapy, Clinical Medicine or other related clinically oriented nursing or paramedical course.
- Higher diploma in medical education or health professional education
- 2 years’ experience in providing healthcare services.
- 3 years’ experience in training health care workers with at least 1 year experience in an administrative role in training of healthcare workers.
- Registered and in good standing with the regulatory body for your cadre and/or the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA)
- Registered as a trainer with TVETA
- Coordinate planning, implementation and evaluation of training
- Ensure adherence to college policies and procedures and guidelines from regulatory bodies
- Support training manager and principal in communication with regulatory bodies
- Lead the development of syllabi and timetables for training
- Experience with providing and/or coordinating e-learning and blended learning
- Experience with NCMTC teaching and learning methodologies
- Supervise and support the development and review of learning materials: teaching guides, learning guides, logbooks, etceter
- Supervise and support assessment of learning in all aspects – planning, development of assessment materials, assessment of students’ performance and evaluation of assessment
- Contribute tcurriculum development and review
- Guide and coach junior staff supporting the learning of students.
- Participate in the training and assessment of learning of students which may include:
- Preparing and uploading lesson plans and related teaching and formative assessment
- materials for assigned lessons tour learning management system
- Planning and conducting lectures/tutorials/skills training sessions
- Assessing students’ performance
- Mentor, guide and advice students in their learning and development of professional behaviour
- Participate in any other activities related tplanning, implementation and evaluation of teaching and learning in the college including related research. Required competencies
- Competent healthcare professional with technical skills and up to date with trends and developments in healthcare
- Competent and passionate trainer of healthcare workers
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent skills in utilization of training related computer systems and software
- Excellent language skills in writing (English) and oral (English and Kiswahili)
- Good social and general communication skills
- Good team player, interested in helping others tgrow and develop
