Ever since its genesis, Pharmaplus has emerged to be one of the best pharmaceutical company in kenya, providing employment for over 180 staffs.Head of BeautyThe Head of Beauty is responsible for leading the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the beauty category across all retail outlets and online platforms. This role ensures a customer-centric approach, crates an effective product mix, drives brand partnerships, and delivers marketing and sales strategies to elevate the beauty segment as a key growth driver.Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the overall beauty strategy aligned with the organization’s retail goals and customer trends.
  • Identify and unlock growth opportunities across the beauty category (skincare, cosmetics, fragrances, haircare, personal care, etc.).
  • Lead new product development and brand acquisition strategies.
  • Category & Product Management
  • Curate a competitive and diverse range of beauty products and brands tailored to target customer segments.
  • Drive category performance through assortment planning, pricing, merchandising, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor SKU performance and ensure rationalization based on data and trends.
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to drive product launches, in-store promotions, and digital campaigns.
  • Oversee visual merchandising standards across stores to align with brand image and enhance shopper experience.
  • Drive eCommerce growth for the beauty category by coordinating with the digital team.
  • Supplier & Brand Partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with beauty suppliers, distributors, and global/local brands.
  • Negotiate trading terms, promotional deals, and exclusivity opportunities.
  • Ensure timely product availability, marketing support, and vendor compliance.
  • Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of category managers, beauty consultants, and trainers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, capability building, and succession planning within the team.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Track category KPIs including sales, margin, stock health, and customer insights.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly performance reports to management, with actionable recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field.
  • Experience in a similar leadership role within the beauty, cosmetics, or FMCG retail space.
  • Proven track record in category management, vendor negotiations, and delivering sales growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer insight.
  • Experience managing a multi-location team and working in cross-functional environments.
  • Knowledge of market trends, new product development, and beauty innovations.
