Our client is a well-established company in trading and construction industry. They are seeking an experienced, dynamic and results driven Project Development Manager to join their Nairobi Office. This role is key in networking in project development initiatives, fostering government and stakeholder relationships, and ensuring successful project contract signing and execution across different sectors.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project concept papers to the National Treasury for inclusion in bilateral agreements.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities aligned with Samsung C&T's strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with government agencies, development partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and support bid preparation processes to secure new projects.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and facilitate contract signing with government agencies.
  • Manage and mentor a small, high-performing team of project staff.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants during project execution.
  • Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in high-level meetings, forums, and international engagements.
  • Oversee project implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in infrastructure, energy, or public-private partnership projects.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) may be an added advantage.
  • Experience working in international or multicultural environment is desirable.
  • Experience working with government and government agencies is required
  • Proven experience in business development, stakeholder engagement and government liaison.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and contract administration.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
  • Diploma or certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP).
  • Experience working across cultures and international environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for project-related engagements.
