- In some cases, the role may involve strengthening the capacity of local partners, including grassroots organizations and government agencies, to implement and advocate for clean cooking solutions.
- Tracking progress against advocacy goals, collecting data, and evaluating the effectiveness of advocacy efforts is also a key responsibility.
- The Advocacy and County Coordination Officer may also be involved in promoting specific technologies, such as improved cookstoves, biogas systems, or other clean cooking solutions.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., political science, international relations, social science, environmental studies, public health, or a related field) is usually required.
- A strong track record in advocacy, policy influencing, or related fields is essential, with atleast two years of continuous work experience on issues related to energy, environment, or public health.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital for engaging with diverse audiences and crafting compelling advocacy messages.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders is crucial.
- Familiarity with the clean cooking landscape, including technologies, policies, and market dynamics, is often preferred.
- The ability to plan, implement, and manage advocacy projects, including budgets and timelines, is essential.
- The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop evidence-based advocacy strategies is important.
