
Finance and Operations Manager (FOM) at iDE Kenya

- Maintain accurate financial records, including daily data entry, reconciliations, and monthly closings using NetSuite.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to the regional and global finance teams.
- Monitor expenditure against budgets and flag variances for follow-up.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, advances, and reimbursements.
- Assist in cash flow tracking, forecasting, and financial documentation management.
- Liaise regularly with the Regional Finance Manager to ensure alignment with iDE's financial procedures and donor requirements.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
- Ensure compliance with Kenya tax and statutory reporting requirements, as applicable for the non-profit sector upon registration in Kenya.
- Ensure financial activities comply with donor requirements and iDE policies, especially for restricted funding and multi-year grants.
- Assist in managing vendor payments, procurement documentation, and logistics.
- Support HR coordination in partnership with the Employer of Record, including onboarding and leave tracking.
- Maintain filing systems for financial, operational, and compliance records.
- Assist with office setup and other tasks related to the potential registration of iDE in Kenya.
- Support logistical operations, including the identification and management of office spaces that meet security standards and oversee rental and leasing obligations.
- Assist in the drafting, review, and updating of country-specific policies and SOPs to align with Kenyan regulations and iDE's operational requirements.
- Establish and maintain controls to ensure compliance with local laws, donor requirements, and iDE financial and operational policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the EOR to ensure invoices are properly coded and compliance needs are efficiently met.
- Ensure procurement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure transparency, compliance, and strong vendor relations.
- Support proactive security measures and provide continuous assessment and improvement in security protocols.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA Part II or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years in hands-on accounting, financial administration and operations, ideally with an international nonprofit or donor-funded project.
- Proficiency in NetSuite or other ERP systems required.
- Strong skills in Excel and familiarity with donor compliance standards.
- Understanding of Kenyan tax laws, statutory reporting, and basic labor regulations.
