Nariana Enterprises is an accredited civil engineering contractor, and supplier of Laboratory, Material Testing, and Surveying Equipment in the region.Project Manager - Road ConstructionAs we scale up our civil engineering division, we are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Project Manager to lead the execution of complex roadworks across Kenya.Role SummaryWe are seeking a Project Manager with the leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight to manage full-cycle delivery of road infrastructure projects-from bid development and mobilization through execution, monitoring, and final close-out.This is a hands-on role requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams, site engineers, contractors, and government clients. You will be responsible for ensuring all deliverables meet contractual, technical, safety, and environmental standards-while driving schedules, budgets, and stakeholder expectations. Regular travel to active project sites is expected.Key Responsibilities1. Planning & Tendering
  • Review tender documents, BOQs, and engineering drawings to prepare competitive, compliant bids.
  • Conduct pre-bid site visits and develop execution strategies, timelines, and resource plans.
2. Site & Execution Management
  • Initiate project mobilization and provide day-to-day leadership across site operations, ensuring all works align with contractual milestones, technical specifications, and HSE protocols.
  • Supervise site teams, contractors, and equipment deployment to ensure timely and quality execution.
  • Monitor material usage, productivity, and adherence to method statements.
3. Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with clients and participate in all progress and technical meetings.
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, inspectors, and local authorities for compliance and documentation.
4. Financial Oversight
  • Monitor project financials including cost forecasting, cash flow, subcontractor payments, and change order management-ensuring transparency, budget adherence, and timely reporting.
  • Approve site expenses and manage petty cash with supporting documentation.
5. Quality Assurance & Handover
  • Enforce quality control, site safety, and environmental practices across all stages of the project.
  • Maintain proper documentation including progress reports, as-built drawings, and inspection records.
  • Oversee final handover process including punch-list resolution, commissioning, and DLP closure.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in road construction project management.
  • Must be certified and registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan road standards (earthworks, drainage, sub-base/base, bitumen layers, culverts, etc.).
  • Proficient in project planning software (e.g., MS Project) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, site coordination, and communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently to project sites across the country.
