  • Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
  • Own the monthly close process and production of management accounts to board standard (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Deliver clear, commercially focused commentary: performance drivers, risks, and recommended actions
  • Build and maintain financial models that adapt to a high-growth, dynamic environment
  • Support investor and board reporting, including variance analysis and forward-looking commentary
  • Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital
  • Lead the rolling cash flow forecasting process (minimum 13-week horizon), with scenario planning (base, downside, improvement)
  • Own working capital management end-to-end: payables days, receivables, and cash conversion cycle
  • Manage banking relationships and day-to-day treasury operations
  • Translate financial performance into cash impact and drive corrective action where needed
  • Supplier Strategy & Accounts Payable
  • Own the accounts payable function and supplier payment strategy, including payment scheduling, creditor days management, and supplier prioritisation
  • Develop and maintain a structured approach to supplier payment terms – balancing cash flow constraints with the need to protect key supplier relationships
  • Lead supplier negotiations on payment terms, rebates, and promotional contributions where appropriate
  • Monitor aged creditor positions and ensure timely, accurate supplier statement reconciliations
  • Build systematic processes to replace ad-hoc, relationship-dependent payment practices with disciplined, data-driven approaches
  • Margins & Profitability
  • Develop and execute strategies for margin management across product categories, channels, and cost lines
  • Partner with commercial and operations teams to identify and close margin leakage
  • Oversee product costing, promotions analysis, and contribution margin tracking
  • Cost Control & Operational Finance
  • Implement rigorous cost control across all departments without compromising quality or growth
  • Oversee inventory control processes, supporting stock optimisation, freshness management, and waste reduction – a material P&L driver in online grocery
  • Monitor and report on inventory write-offs, expiry, and shrinkage; drive accountability for waste across the operation
  • Provide financial insight into key operational decisions – logistics, fulfilment, private label, staffing
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead a finance team of approximately 10 people, including senior accountants and junior finance staff
  • Set clear objectives and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Build capability within the team – coaching, upskilling, and creating clear development paths
  • Establish a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Systems, Automation & Master Data
  • Own financial master data and be a core architect of Greenspoon's data standards
  • Work with the ERP Consultant and IT resource to continuously improve Microsoft Dynamics reporting and workflows
  • Drive automation of key finance processes; be proactive in identifying and implementing AI and digital tools to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy
  • Compliance, Audit & Controls
  • Manage the external audit relationship (currently Grant Thornton) and ensure the business is audit-ready at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all Kenyan regulatory requirements: VAT, Withholding Tax, Corporate Tax, and statutory filings
  • Design and maintain pragmatic financial controls appropriate for a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Flag risks early and propose practical remediation
Qualifications & Experience
  • CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification, plus a Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • 5+ years of experience in chaotic, high growth & complex working environments with ownership on (part of the) finance function
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics (or a comparable ERP); comfort navigating and improving financial systems
Senior DeveloperWhat you will be doing
  • Lead development of new features, internal tools for front-end, back-end and logistics
  • Improve performance, stability, and scalability of existing systems
  • Design and implement integrations with our systems (mainly WooCommerce, ElasticSearch, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Translate business and user needs into clean and snappy code
  • Own projects from concept to deployment including timelines, priorities, and testing
  • Make UI/UX designs that are beautiful and intuitive
  • Work independently and efficiently with minimal guidance (e.g. with AI) while keeping teams informed
What we are looking for
  • At least 5 years of experience in full stack development preferably in an eCommerce or logistics context
  • Experience working with WooCommerce back ends & ERP systems (Dynamics, SAP etc.)
  • Strong PHP skills, with experience in Laravel or similar frameworks
  • Strong front-end skills – clean HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flutter, React and Vue.js
  • A sharp eye for usability and product design
  • Someone who loves variety and complexity
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Clear communicator who can work well across teams

Category ManagerKey responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end performance of the assigned category, including sales, margin, pricing, and rebates.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving trust and long-term growth partnerships.
  • Negotiate trading terms, rebates, and promotional support to ensure category profitability.
  • Lead joint business plans (JBPs) with key suppliers to drive innovation, marketing support, and growth.
  • Manage category assortment – ensuring a balance of core everyday products and unique differentiated items.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics including sales trends, stock cover, margins, and supplier performance.
  • Drive customer-focused category strategies that align with Greenspoon's positioning as an everyday online supermarket.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and finance to ensure seamless execution of promotions, campaigns, and launches.
  • Continuously monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform pricing and category strategy.
Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or a related field.
  • Experience in category management, procurement, or buying – preferably in a large supermarket chain, FMCG, or retail environment.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations, joint business planning, and delivering margin improvements.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
